Star Anise

Star anise can be used whole or ground, and in both sweet and savory dishes. Star anise is used mostly in Vietnamese and Chinese cooking. Whole stars are used to infuse flavor into tea, soups, stews, cocktails, pasta sauce and braised dishes. Ground star anise is a dominant ingredient in Chinese five-spice powder, can be used in baked good.
